The most popular excursion destinations of our region
The region around the wine town and across the border to South Moravia offers a variety of excursions, where a short holiday can turn into an experience without borders.
The neighbour towns of Poysdorf invite to a side visit: ‘crazy’ Herrnbaumgarten and romantic Falkenstein.
Castle Wilfersdorf, the ancestral castle of Liechtenstein, located in Weinviertler Dreiländereck, is an ideal starting point for a trip through the impressive history of this aristocratic dynasty in Weinviertel and South Moravia. We recommend to visit the castles Lednice and Valtice: their magnificent buildings, composed parks and idyllic landscape gardens still represent timeless artistic complexes.
Valtice as a South Moravian counterpart to the wine town Poysdorf is popular as capital of wine as well and invites to tastings there!

Valtice Castle, often named a baroque pearl, belongs to the Lednice-Valtice Cultural Landscape and is part of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage
The town Valtice is dominated by two buildings – the castle and the Assumption Church. The castle, built 1643 – 1730, was the noble residence of the Liechtenstein family until the middle of the 20th century. The complex is surrounded by a huge park area with many romantic buildings from the first half of the 19th century.
The local museum gives evidence of the eventful history of South Moravia around Lednice and Valtice, always an area of tension between Liechtenstein, Habsburg and Czech politics. Viticulture and the daily life of bygone days are shown here as well. Guided tours are available in Czech, German and English.
